How much does interior wall painting cost in Toronto?

Standard interior wall painting starts at $0.99 per square foot of paintable wall surface, per coat, + material.

The advertised rate applies to walls only, standard-size walls, standard ceiling heights, regular business hours, normal access and ample room for the work to be completed.

The price is based on the actual paintable wall surface—not the apartment's floor square footage. Final measurements and the required number of coats are confirmed in the written estimate.

Trim, doors, door frames, ceilings, furniture moving, paid parking and any other client-requested work are additional.

When is the three-coat painting package required?

A major colour change or a wall with patches or repair work requires our three-coat system: one primer coat and two finish coats.

Each coat is priced at $0.99 per square foot of paintable wall surface. The complete three-coat labour price is $2.97 per square foot, + material.

The primer coat creates a consistent base so the finished wall colour looks the same throughout the entire wall or space.

This is our Complete Refresh or Colour Change Package.

04

Why is primer required after wall patches or repair work?

Primer is required so patched and repaired areas have a consistent base before the finish colour is applied.

Repair compound and the surrounding painted wall can absorb paint differently. Without primer, repaired areas can remain visible through the final colour or produce an uneven appearance.

For a wall with patches or repair work, MARK & MEASURE requires one primer coat and two finish coats so the wall colour looks consistent throughout the entire wall or space.

The three-coat labour price is $2.97 per square foot of paintable wall surface, + material.

Why is primer required for a major colour change?

A major colour change requires primer to create a consistent base before the new finish colour is applied.

The existing colour can affect the appearance and consistency of the new colour. Our Complete Refresh or Colour Change Package includes one primer coat followed by two finish coats.

The three-coat system helps the new wall colour look the same throughout the complete wall or space.

Each coat is $0.99 per square foot of paintable wall surface, for a total labour price of $2.97 per square foot, + material.

Can I choose a one-coat paint refresh?

Yes. A one-coat refresh is available for suitable walls when there is no major colour change.

A one-coat refresh is $0.99 per square foot of paintable wall surface, + material.

The rate applies to walls only, standard-size walls, standard ceiling heights, regular business hours, normal access and ample room for the work to be completed.

The existing wall condition and colour are reviewed before the one-coat option is confirmed.

A two-coat refresh is $1.98 per square foot of paintable wall surface, + material.

The two-coat option is available for suitable walls when there is no major colour change.

08

Is painting priced using wall area or apartment floor area?

Our $0.99-per-coat price is calculated using the actual paintable wall surface, not the apartment's floor area.

Paintable wall area is measured from the walls that will be painted. Standard ceiling height, access and available working room are considered when confirming the estimate.

This gives the customer a clear price connected directly to the surfaces included in the work.

The final measurement and complete price are confirmed in writing before work begins.

09

Is moving furniture included in the painting price?

No. The advertised painting price assumes ample room is available for the work to be completed.

The customer should provide clear working space around the walls before work begins.

If furniture or belongings must be moved—especially heavy, oversized or difficult-to-move items—the additional work is priced separately.

Furniture moving and any other specific client requests can be included in the written estimate.

Does the $0.99 painting price apply after regular business hours?

No. The advertised price applies during regular business hours.

Evening, overnight, weekend, holiday and other work outside regular business hours requires a separate quote.

This also applies when a condominium, office, retail space or managed property restricts the work to special hours.

Provide the required work schedule when requesting the estimate so it can be included in the written price.

The price depends on what the customer wants included in the project.
