1. Who this policy applies to
This policy explains how MARK & MEASURE (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit https://markandmeasure.ca, contact us, request an estimate, book a service, or otherwise deal with us. It is intended for clients and prospective clients in Ontario and Canada.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you contact us and the service you request, we may collect:
- your name, phone number, email address and preferred way to be contacted;
- the service address, unit or access details needed to assess, schedule and complete the work;
- project descriptions, measurements, photographs and messages you provide;
- estimate, booking, appointment, invoice and payment-status information; and
- communications, service notes and close-out information needed for quality, warranty, safety, recordkeeping or dispute resolution.
When you visit our website, essential technical information may also be processed by the service providers that help us deliver the site. We do not try to identify website visitors from that information unless they choose to contact us or submit a request.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information only for reasonable business purposes connected to the requested service. This includes replying to inquiries, reviewing scope, preparing estimates, scheduling work, communicating changes or approvals, arranging materials, completing the work, processing invoices, maintaining records, improving safety and quality, and addressing concerns after the job.
We may ask for feedback after a completed job. We will obtain your permission before publishing identifiable client feedback, names, or project photographs in our marketing.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share the minimum information needed with employees, assigned independent contractors, suppliers, insurers, and technology providers who help us provide the requested service. Anyone working on your assignment should use that information only for the work and related follow-up.
We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to respond to a safety or insurance matter, or to protect our rights, clients or property.
5. Booking, payments and third-party services
Our website may link to third-party services for booking, communications or payment. For example, if you choose to make an appointment through Calendly, the information you enter there is also handled under Calendly’s own privacy practices.
If we enable online invoice or card payment, the payment provider will process payment information directly. MARK & MEASURE does not store full payment-card numbers on its website.
6. Consent and marketing
By voluntarily submitting a request, sending us an email or message, or providing project information, you consent to our collecting and using that information to respond to and perform the requested service. We will seek appropriate consent for any separate marketing use. You can opt out of non-essential marketing messages at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe option provided.
7. Retention and protection
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including service follow-up, accounting, tax, legal, warranty, safety and dispute-resolution requirements. When information is no longer needed, we will securely delete it or make it anonymous where appropriate.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and access requests
You may ask us about the personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and may be unable to delete information we are required to retain by law or for a legitimate business purpose.
9. Contact us
For privacy questions, access or correction requests, please email markandmeasure.ca@gmail.com. Please include “Privacy Request” in the subject line so we can route it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, website or legal obligations change. The current version will always be posted on this page with its last-updated date.
